Over the next 20 years, this 304-hectare precinct will transform from an industrial area into a vibrant riverside precinct which stretches 2.5 kilometres along the Brisbane River.
For 100 years the wharves at Hamilton were the place Queensland exported its best to the world. Now Northshore Brisbane operates a different shipping schedule. Just six kilometres from the CBD you'll find luxury river homes and apartments fit for a captain, a hub of experiential arts and cultural experiences you'll want to write home about, and some of the most exciting cuisines in the world. This iconic stretch of water is transforming from working dock, into Brisbane's immersive riverfront.
Northshore Brisbane is also a new business district, a hub of business innovation, from start-ups to global giants.
Lastly, Northshore Brisbane has been identified as the home of the Brisbane Athletes' Village for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Northshore Brisbane's prime waterfront location and its proximity to the CBD, competition and training venues, and transport connections makes it an ideal location to host over 10,000 athletes and team officials for the Olympic Games and over 5,000 athletes and team officials for the Paralympics.

MacArthur Avenue change in traffic conditions - Sewer works
Share MacArthur Avenue change in traffic conditions - Sewer works on Facebook Share MacArthur Avenue change in traffic conditions - Sewer works on Twitter Share MacArthur Avenue change in traffic conditions - Sewer works on Linkedin Email MacArthur Avenue change in traffic conditions - Sewer works linkRoadworks: MacArthur Avenue Sewer Construction
We wish to advise of some upcoming roadworks along MacArthur Avenue South, see attached plans.
What will the infrastructure works involve?
In order to cater for the future growth and development of the area it has become necessary to carry out roadworks to upgrade underground services. The works will involve;
- Installation of new sewer pipeline and manholes along MacArthur Avenue.
- Road demolition and reinstatement.
- Verge demolition and reinstatement.
When will these changes take effect?
Low impact preliminary works will commence on Monday 27th March including tree removal, service location and site establishment.
Construction works including changed traffic arrangements will commence on Tuesday 11th April. The works are scheduled for completion in July, weather dependant.
What are the impacts of the works?
Low Impact Preliminary Works (27th March):
- Material and equipment deliveries within verge
- Tree removal within verge (may include minor traffic management, no closures or detours)
- Service location within verge
- Site Establishment including demountable buildings, storage containers & fencing.
Construction Works including Changes to Traffic Arrangement (11th April):
- Changed traffic conditions - Eastbound traffic on MacArthur Avenue will be diverterted onto the Southern side of the road between the cross roads of Theodore St and Cedar Rd. Refer to attached plan for more details.
- Vibration - excavation and compaction equipment may cause vibrations during working hours.
- Noise - construction equipment and pumps may cause noise within the vicinity of the works during working hours.
- Maximum Working Hours are Monday-Saturday 6.00am - 6.00pm. Prior notice will be provided should works need to occur outside of these hours.
We would like to thank residents and road users in the area for their patience and understanding while this important project progresses.

Further Northshore waterfront to open to the public
Share Further Northshore waterfront to open to the public on Facebook Share Further Northshore waterfront to open to the public on Twitter Share Further Northshore waterfront to open to the public on Linkedin Email Further Northshore waterfront to open to the public linkIn August 2022 we shared the news that four of the nine warehouses in the former Qube Ports precinct – Sheds H, J, M, N – would need to be removed due to structural and safely reasons. These works are well underway and will be finished by January 2023.
We have since completed further investigations on Sheds F, G and W. Whilst we were hopeful these warehouses may be able to be kept and repurposed, it is apparent that these warehouses are also structurally unsound and cannot reasonably be retained or repurposed. Removal of these warehouses will therefore be complete by March 2023.
Whilst we hadn’t expected to be removing Sheds F, G and W, the area created provides further opportunities for interim activation and greater public access to the waterfront, extending from Maritime Green. This supports our strategy of opening up and activating the waterfront ahead of permanent development.
EDQ is working with urban designers to develop a masterplan to deliver new interim community and retail spaces for the area. Construction will be completed in stages starting in early 2023. It is expected the public will have access from late 2023 (pending weather conditions and material availability).
We will provide details about new tenants and exciting activations along the waterfront from mid-2023.

Heavy vehicle restrictions now in place
Share Heavy vehicle restrictions now in place on Facebook Share Heavy vehicle restrictions now in place on Twitter Share Heavy vehicle restrictions now in place on Linkedin Email Heavy vehicle restrictions now in place linkEconomic Development Queensland (EDQ) has been aware, from discussions with residents and businesses in and around MacArthur Avenue, that the parking of trucks and heavy vehicles and associated trailers during the day and overnight is having a detrimental impact on the quality of the local environment.
Following the end of Port of Brisbane activities on MacArthur Avenue in 2021, EDQ has been working with Brisbane City Council and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) to manage the impacts of heavy vehicles in this area. The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator is the statutory authority administering the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
We are pleased to announce that the NHVR has approved an application to restrict heavy vehicles from parking, marshalling, or queueing anywhere along MacArthur Avenue and Bincote Street within Northshore.
Effective immediately, heavy vehicles will now only be allowed to travel along these roads.
Enforcement of these restrictions will be the responsibility of Brisbane City Council.
EDQ hopes these measures will improve the user experience for residents, occupiers, and visitors alike as we continue to transform Northshore into a sustainable sub-tropical lifestyle precinct.

Warehouses to be repurposed for carparking and new events
Share Warehouses to be repurposed for carparking and new events on Facebook Share Warehouses to be repurposed for carparking and new events on Twitter Share Warehouses to be repurposed for carparking and new events on Linkedin Email Warehouses to be repurposed for carparking and new events linkLogan City Demolitions & Recycling (LCDR) have been awarded the contract to demolish four warehouses totaling over 10,000 m2 (H, J, M, N). The warehouses, once home to QUBE Ports (see image), have been vacant since early 2021 when QUBE Ports relocated to the Port of Brisbane.
Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) sought independent structural advice on the stability and safety of repurposing these buildings. The findings showed that while five of the warehouses could be used in the future, the four identified were recommended for timely demolition.
LCDR will mobilise to site in late August and start demolition in September. Works will continue through to November and include conversion of the footprint of warehouse M and N, on the corner of Bincote Street and MacArthur Avenue, into approximately 220 free new car parks to support our new event spaces in the Maritime Green Park. The footprint of warehouses H and J will provide new open hardstand to support pop-events.
During the demolition there will be periods of footpath closures with signed changes to pedestrian movements along MacArthur Avenue. Updates will be provided as these dates are scheduled.
LCDR have been in operation for over 40 years and are committed to environmentally focused demolition, striving to always achieve a recycling margin of at least 85% per site by reducing, reusing, or recycling materials.
So committed to conserving resources and ecologically sustainable development, LCDR started its own recycling facility in Logan in February 2021. At the facility the team crush, re-purpose and re-use concrete products, bricks, roof tiles etc. and re-sell suitable material back to the market.
LCDR are the first demolisher in South East Queensland to have their own private concrete facility. They plan to recycle their own construction and demolition waste, increasing their current 85% recycling rate to 95%.

Share Riverwalk now open and new works to increase pedestrian connectivity on Facebook Share Riverwalk now open and new works to increase pedestrian connectivity on Twitter Share Riverwalk now open and new works to increase pedestrian connectivity on Linkedin Email Riverwalk now open and new works to increase pedestrian connectivity linkWorks that had closed the pedestrian access to the Riverwalk behind the tennis courts in Dock D are now complete and the path is open.
Residents may notice temporary fencing has been installed behind Dock D, Passenger Zone 4. This fencing is to accommodate the construction of a new pedestrian link through the existing garden bed (see plan below).
The four-metre-wide pedestrian link will feature recycled timber posts and festoon lighting, and will provide quicker access to, and out of, the Passenger Zone 4 (pick-up/drop). The link will also provide easy access to The Shed and Eat Street entrances.Works on the pedestrian link are expected to be complete by late September 2022.
